Wikimedia Downloads
If you are reading this on Wikimedia servers, please note that we are now enforcing the Wikimedia Foundation User-Agent Policy for dumps downloads. Downloads are also rate limited and capped at 3 connections per-IP. These controls will help to ensure that everyone can access the files with reasonable download times. Clients that do not respect the user-agent policy or who try to evade these limits may be blocked.
Data downloads
- MediaWiki Content File Exports
- A complete copy of all public Wikimedia wikis, in the form of wikitext source and metadata embedded in XML - the editable source of each page.
- Database backup dumps
- A complete copy of all public Wikimedia wikis, in the form of wikitext source and metadata embedded in XML (Note: These XML dumps are deprecated, please use MediaWiki Content File Exports instead). A number of raw database tables in SQL form are also available.
- These snapshots are provided monthly. If you are a regular user of these dumps, please consider subscribing to xmldatadumps-l for regular updates.
- Backups of some Wikimedia wikis that no longer exist - including the Sept. 11 wiki - are also available.
- Mirror sites: the XML dumps above are also mirrored elsewhere - check the complete list.
- Wikimedia Enterprise HTML dumps
- Bulk rendered HTML of articles - the page as readers see it, rather than wikitext source. This content is provided through Wikimedia Enterprise, the Wikimedia Foundation's commercial service: its Snapshot API provides regularly updated HTML dumps and its On-demand API serves individual articles - both available with a free account, or via your Wikimedia Cloud Services developer account. Static HTML dumps that remain hosted on this site are listed on the HTML dumps archive page.
- Analytics data files
- Pageview, Mediacount, Unique, and other stats.
- Other files
- Additional datasets including Wikidata entity dumps, Structured Data from Commons, CirrusSearch search indexes, daily page and media titles, short URLs, and more.
- Kiwix files
- Static dumps of wiki projects in OpenZim format
Software downloads
- MediaWiki
- MediaWiki is a free software wiki package written in PHP, originally for use on Wikipedia. It is now used by several other projects of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation and by many other wikis.
