An attempt to catalogue the Gothic form of various foreign names, both potential ones and those already in use.
For the names of people, Gothic might benefit from doing the same as Latvian (and partially Latin), where they add the native nominative ending to the name. A name like Charlie is not simply ''ΔΔrli'' in Latvian, but ''ΔΔrlij<u>s</u>''. That way, the strict system of native words and names can be applied to the foreign one. The same rule applies to feminine names in Latvian, however in that case, with an added ''-a'' or ''-e'' suffix. The surname of Charlie Chaplinβs mother is then ''Δaplina''. While Gothic does have a few borrowed names that donβt fit within the native morphology, these are usually Biblical names from Ancient Greek where they donβt follow Greek morphology either.
In cases where the foreign name is Germanic, it might be easy to simply translate it. E.g. ππ΄πΉπΊπ°π·π°ππ³πΏπ for ''Richard'', instead of a semi-transcription like ππΉπππ°ππ³π.
==Names of people==
* Abe ShinzΕ β ππΉπ½π³πΆπΏπ π°π±π΄π (Sindzus AbΔs) or ππΉπ½π³πΆππ π°π±π΄π (SindzΕs AbΔs). Transcription with added m. nominative suffix.
* Angela Merkel β π°π²π²π°πΉπ»π° πΌπ°πΉππΊπΉπ»π (AggaΓla MaΓrkilΕ). Transcription and partial translation of the surname, where the German diminutive ''-(e)l'' is replaced by Gothic ''-ilΕ''.
* Charlie Chaplin β πππ°ππ»π΄πΉπ πππ°ππ»πΉπ½π (Tsarleis Tsaplins). Transcription with added m. nominative suffix. β¨tsβ© is used for the /tΚ/ sound, as there is no such affricate in Gothic. Cf. Greek, where this and similar sounds are transcribed as β¨tsβ©.
* Dolly Rebecca Parton β π³π°πΏπ»π΄πΉ ππΉπ±π°πΉπΊπ° ππ°ππππ½π° (DaΓΊlei RibaΓka PartΕna). Transcription with added feminine morphology, cf. Latvian ''PΔrtone'' where ''-e'' is a feminine ending added to both native and foreign surnames.
* Donald John Trump β π³ππ½π°π»π³π π³πΆπ°πΏπ½π πππΏπΌππ. Transcription based on the way Germanic languages tend to acquire the name, cf. Donald Duck. Added m. nominative suffix.

An actual translation might however be ''Karileina'', from the feminine of ''karileins'' (of or pertaining to Karils), equivalent of Lat. ''carolΔ«nus''. This would seem somewhat strange though, as it would suggest other similar translations, like German ''*Karlene'' or Icelandic ''Karlin''.
