A special election has been called to fill additional vacancies on the U4C. The call for candidates phase is open from now through July 19, 2024.

The [[:m:Special:MyLanguage/Universal Code of Conduct/Coordinating Committee|Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee]] (U4C) is a global group dedicated to providing an equitable and consistent implementation of the [[:foundation:Wikimedia Foundation Universal Code of Conduct|UCoC]]. Community members are invited to submit their applications in the special election for the U4C. For more information and the responsibilities of the U4C, please review the [[m:Special:MyLanguage/Universal Code of Conduct/Coordinating Committee/Charter|U4C Charter]].

In this special election, according to [[Special:MyLanguage/Universal Code of Conduct/Coordinating Committee/Charter#2. 底本ファイル（PDF）が言語Aで、それを日本語に翻訳した場合、Indexページの「言語」設定については言語Aと日本語のどちらにするのが正しいのでしょうか？

具体的にいうと、次のようなケースです。
[[Index:언문철자법.pdf]]（諺文綴字法）は底本ファイル（PDF）が朝鮮語で、それを日本語訳したものが各ページのテキストデータとして入力されています。
現状では [[Index:언문철자법.pdf]] の「言語」設定は &quot;ko&quot;（朝鮮語）となっています。
このIndexページをトランスクルードした [[諺文綴字法]] の記事では、朝鮮語のフォントの感じになっており、日本語の文章の見た目としては少し不自然になってしまっています。

:こんにちは。井戸端への提起、ありがとうございます。
:私としては、ヘルプ:Indexページは（ウィキソースではすべての言語版にある）校正拡張機能の解説であり、日本語版では翻訳物でも「jpn」を使うものだと考えています。なので、言語設定を変えるのは問題ないと思います。ただ、「諺文綴字法」はハングルも多く、ko 版を機械翻訳で見ると古ハングルもあるようで、言語設定を変えるだけで、表示が上手くいくのかはわかりません。変体仮名のように、ユニコードはあるけれど□（とうふ?）になり、必要フォントをダウンロードすることになったりするのかも、と心配しています。私が考えすぎであり、やってみて失敗したらリバート対応すればいいから wiki なのでは…？、とも思ったりもしています。ですので、対応はお任せしたいと思います。

Hi all! We have good news to share regarding the ongoing problem with graphs and charts affecting all wikis that use them.

As you probably know, the [[:mw:Special:MyLanguage/Extension:Graph|old Graph extension]] was disabled in 2023 [[listarchive:list/wikitech-l@lists.wikimedia.org/thread/EWL4AGBEZEDMNNFTM4FRD4MHOU3CVESO/|due to security reasons]]. We’ve worked in these two years to find a solution that could replace the old extension, and provide a safer and better solution to users who wanted to showcase graphs and charts in their articles. We therefore developed the [[:mw:Special:MyLanguage/Extension:Chart|Charts extension]], which will be replacing the old Graph extension and potentially also the [[:mw:Extension:EasyTimeline|EasyTimeline extension]].

After successfully deploying the extension on Italian, Swedish, and Hebrew Wikipedia, as well as on MediaWiki.org, as part of a pilot phase, we are now happy to announce that we are moving forward with the next phase of deployment, which will also include your wiki.

The deployment will happen in batches, and will start from '''May 6'''. We opened a discussion on Meta about a very delicate issue for the development of [[:m:Special:MyLanguage/Abstract Wikipedia|Abstract Wikipedia]]: where to store the abstract content that will be developed through functions from Wikifunctions and data from Wikidata. Since some of the hypothesis involve your project, we wanted to hear your thoughts too. 

We want to make the decision process clear: we do not yet know which option we want to use, which is why we are consulting here. We will take the arguments from the Wikimedia communities into account, and we want to consult with the different communities and hear arguments that will help us with the decision. 　各選出プロセスにおいて、コミュニティが理事会候補者に回答を求める質問提出の機会があります。コミュニティが作成した一覧から、選挙管理委員会は候補者に回答を求める質問を選びます。質問は立候補申請書類に記載され、候補者は必ずそのすべてに回答しなければなりません。無回答があると申請は無効となります。本年、選挙管理委員会が選び候補者に回答してもらう質問は5問です。選んだ質問は、コミュニティから提出された質問と類似または関連する場合、複数の質問を組み合わせる場合があります[[m:Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2025/Questions_for_candidates|[リンク]]]。

選挙ボランティア
