(661-749 इ. ) योगदान गजलमे सर्वाधिक अछि। तँए विद्वान लोकनि एहि युगके उमवी युग कहैत छथि। उमवी समयमे मक्का आ मदीना शाइर आ कलाकारक केन्द्र छल। जाहि कबीला (खानदान)मे पैगम्बर हजरत मोहम्मदक जन्म भेलन्हि ओही कबीलामे शाइर उमर-बिन-अबी -रबीय ( 643-711 इ.)क जन्म सेहो भेलन्हि। इ. 701 जन्मल जमील बुसीन विशुद्ध गजलगो शाइर छलाह। बुसीन वस्तुतः जमीलक प्रेमिकाक नाम छल जकरा जमील अपन तखल्लुस (उपनाम) के रुपमे प्रयोग करैत छलाह। आब एहि समय धरि गजलक विषय मात्र शारीरिक नहि रहि भावनात्मक भए गेलैक। प्रसिद्ध शाइर उमरु-बिन-कुलसूम अत़गलबी अपन गजलक शुरुआत प्रेमिकाक देहसँ नहि वरन जाम-ओ-मीनासँ करैत छथि। इस्लामक जन्म पछाति अरबी शाइरीके विषय तँ बदलबे केलै संगहि-संग इस्लाम जखन इरान-इराक पहुँचल तँ गजल सेहो पहुँचि गेलै। आ एहि तरहें आब फारसीमे सेहो गजल कहनाइ शुरु भेल। फारसीमे गजलगोइ नवम शताब्दीक अंतसँ शुरु भेल। मुदा एहिठाम ई कहबामे कोनो संकोच नहि जे फारसीमे कहल गजल अरबी गजलसँ बेसी नीक, समृद्ध, उदार आ भावनासँ परिपूर्ण अछि। एकर कारण ई जे अरब के तुलनामे इरान सभ्यता-संस्कृतिके मामलेमे बेसी विकसित छल। फारसीमे संभवतः रुदकी समरकन्दी पहिल शाइर छथि जे गजल कहलथि। रुदकी गजलक अलावे कसीदा, रुबाइ, मनसवी आदि सेहो कहलथि। फारसीक लगभग सभ महत्वपूर्ण शाइर गजल कहलथि जेना श़ेख सादी, रुमी, ख्वाजू किरमानी, हाफ़िज, शिराजी इत्यादि। फारसी गजलमे कमाल ख़जन्दी महत्वपूर्ण हस्ताक्षर छलाह। एहि सभहँक अलावे ओहि समयमे उ़र्फी, मजीरी, तालिब, कलीम आ सायब सभ सेहो गजलक विकास अपना-अपना तरीकासँ केलथि। एकटा आर गप्प फारसी गजलमे सायबके तमसील (मने दृष्टान्त)क बादशाह मानल जाइत अछि, मुदा ओ स्वयं एहि कलाके उस्ताद गनी काश्मीरीके बुझैत छलाह। आ हुनकासँ भेंट करबाक लेल भारत (फारसी इतिहासमे हिन्दोस्तान) सेहो आएल छलाह। फारसी गजलके संबंधमे दूटा गप्प आर । अलीहर्फीइस्फाहानी जे बनारस आबि गेलाह। सन 1765 इ.मे हुनक मृत्यु भेलन्हि । आ एहने समयमे भारतक माटि पर गजल अपन गमक पसारि देलक। एहिठाम ई मोन राखब उचित जे भारतमे अमीर खुसरोके पहिल गजलगो सेहो मानल जाइत अछि।
