'''Mamaia''' este o stațiune românească ce se află pe [[Litoralul românesc|litoralul românesc]] al [[Marea Neagră|Mării Negre]]. Stațiunea aparține din punct de vedere administrativ de [[Constanța|municipiul Constanța]]. În timpul verii, Mamaia este un centru turistic foarte populat, pentru telegondola [[Constanța|constănțeană]], a doua din [[Europa]], după cea din Barcelona.

==Date generale==

Mamaia este cea mai mare stațiune românească de pe coasta [[Marea Neagră|Mării Negre]]. Este localizată la 5 km de municipiul [[Constanța]] (căruia îi aparține administrativ), pe un grind litoral care separă [[Marea Neagră]] de limanul numit [[Lacul Siutghiol]] (''Süt-Göl'': &quot;lacul lăptos&quot; în turcește). Grindul are o lungime de 8 km, însă o lățime de doar 300 m. Plaja foarte lungă, cu o lățime de până la 250 m, este acoperită cu un nisip foarte fin, parte mineral, parte cochilifer. De-a lungul acesteia se află multe magazine, restaurante, terase, cluburi și discoteci.

Stațiunea a fost deschisă în 1906. În prezent poate găzdui 20.000 de vizitatori în peste 64 de hoteluri de la 1* la 5*****. Ea reprezintă un mediu sportiv și cultural, în fiecare vară din 1963 organizându-se '''Festivalul de Muzică Ușoară Mamaia''' precum și multe alte evenimente similare.

Amplasamentul actual al Mamaiei era neconstruit până în [[1906]], când apar primele cabine de lemn reunite sub două Pavilioane, terminate cu câte un foișor, și o punte care înainta în mare. Inaugurarea primelor construcții a avut loc pe 22 august 1906, acestea fiind amenajate după planurile arhitectului peisagist E. Recont, în urma extinderii portului către plajele existente din sudul [[Constanța|Constanței]] și a mutării &quot;băilor de mare&quot; spre nord, respectiv în actuala Mamaia. Pentru a înlesni accesul turiștilor către Mamaia (mai precis spre ceea ce este acum zona Cazinoului din Mamaia), între gara [[Constanța]] și stațiune se montează o linie de cale ferată pe traseul ocupat astăzi se află Bulevardul Mamaia. Aceasta cale ferată a dispărut prin anii [[1960]].

===Climă===

Temperatura medie în Mamaia este de 11°C. În iulie, temperatura ajunge la 30°C, iar în ianuarie scade la 0°C. Vremea este bună pentru plajă începând cu mijlocul lui mai și terminând cu septembrie târziu, când temperaturile medii depășesc 25 de grade Celsius. Apa este caldă până spre sfârșitul toamnei.

De la aeroportul Mihail Kogălniceanu se fac circa 15 minute până în Mamaia. Aeroportul este deschis permanent.

În zonă, cel mai apropiat port turistic este Portul Tomis. De acolo până în Mamaia se fac în jur de 10 minute, în funcție de trafic. Portul oferă facilități precum: curent, apă, pază, etc.

Gara Constanța se află la 20 minute de stațiunea Mamaia. Distanța poate fi parcursă și cu transportul în comun (RATC).

Principalele atracții ale Mamaiei sunt [[Satul de Vacanță Mamaia|Satul de Vacanță]], parcul de distracții Aqua Magic și telegondola. Radio Vacanța este postul de radio al stațiunii, care emite în fiecare an din mai până în octombrie, începând cu anul 1966 în cinci limbi (română, engleză, franceză, germană și rusă) în toate stațiunile de pe coasta românească a Mării Negre. În fiecare an, în timpul verii, în această stațiune se desfășoară Festivalul muzicii ușoare de la Mamaia.

=== Satul de Vacanță ===
„Satul de Vacanță” este un loc pitoresc care găzduiește 31 de [[restaurant]]e tradiționale românești, decorate în stil rustic, conform regiunii pe care o reprezintă fiecare. Una dintre atracțiile satului de vacanță sunt suvenirurile din scoici. Acestea sunt lucrate manual din scoici adunate iarna de pe malul marii.

Aqua Magic este un parc acvatic de pe litoralul Mării Negre, ce se întinde pe o suprafață de 27.200 mp (2,7 hectare) și include tobogane, piscine pentru adulți și copii, căderi de apă, bazine, restaurante, baruri, fast-food-uri și magazine de suveniruri.

=== Telegondola ===
Inaugurată la 16 iulie 200], după o investiție de aproximativ 3,5 milioane €, telegondola este un teleferic modern care face legătura între Cazino și Hotelul Perla, pe un traseu de 2,1 km. Deplasarea se face la o înălțime de 50 m, cu o viteză de 5 metri pe secundă, întregul traseu fiind parcurs în șapte minute.

=== Lacul Siutghiol ===

Lacul Siutghiol are o lungime de 7,5 km și o lățime de 2,5 km. Pe cele 1900 hectare ale sale se practică sporturi de apă precum schi nautic sau yachting. Lacul Siutghiol are o insulă calcaroasă, Ovidiu, cu o suprafață de 2 ha, pe care este amplasat un restaurant.

Since some of the hypothesis involve your project, we wanted to hear your thoughts too. 

We want to make the decision process clear: we do not yet know which option we want to use, which is why we are consulting here. This year, the term of 2 (two) Community- and Affiliate-selected Trustees on the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees will come to an end [1]. The Board invites the whole movement to participate in this year’s selection process and vote to fill those seats.

The Elections Committee will oversee this process with support from Foundation staff [2]. The Governance Committee, composed of trustees who are not candidates in the 2025 community-and-affiliate-selected trustee selection process (Raju Narisetti, Shani Evenstein Sigalov, Lorenzo Losa, Kathy Collins, Victoria Doronina and Esra’a Al Shafei) [3], is tasked with providing Board oversight for the 2025 trustee selection process and for keeping the Board informed.
